He’s back, and still better than all the rest.

Dr. Joel Goodman, founder and director of The HUMOR Project in Saratoga Springs, New York interviewed Pat Paulsen for his LAUGHING MATTERS magazine in 1993 and involved Pat in his annual international humor conference. According to Goodman, “Pat personified and put into action one of my favorite quotes from JFK: ‘There are three things which are real: God, human folly, and laughter. The first two are beyond our comprehension, so we must do what we can with the third.’ In his life…and beyond…Pat has been doing what he can with the third to remind us that we are all humor beings!”

I remember the evening of the interview as if it were yesterday. I hope you enjoy reading it!

While I’m just spechless over the innumberable similarities between Pat and some of the great American’s of all time, I am just aghast that he changed his major from Forestry to Drama just to comingle with the opposite sex. I thought people changed their major to drama to comingle with people of the same sex. That being said, Pat fits my political profile. He couldn’t have gotten us into this ill advised war in Iraq. He would be all for a vibrant economy, based on copious consumption of more wine and thus a more generous tax base. He certainly wouldn’t have cared for the weak dollar against the Euro. After all, now stupid American’s are paying more for crappy French wine! Given all the options, Pat certainly makes for an attractive candidate given the current slate.

The Democrats can’t decide who their candidate should be; the Republicans don’t seem sure either: Pat Paulsen is on the mind of every voting American today! He is on the back burner, hotter than ever!

Pat has what the other candidates seem to lack, a sense of humor! He has my vote for sure.

Here’s a bit more information about this wonderful man.
The Smothers Brothers recently came to Calgary, and I was so grateful to be able to take my 2 young adult children to see them.
They were wonderful, and it brought back so many great memories.

Today, I will send the quote Goodman remembered from JFK “There are three things
etc….” which reminded him of Pat to friends and colleagues. Because of this , people will smile today, and stop and think. Thanks, Pat and Noma. Onward to November, and never say die!
    Why would you?
