Pat’s campaign slogan? “At least I don’t suck as bad as those other guys!”

Very funny! It’s good to have some comic relief with all the seriousness of the primaries.

I always loved Pat’s slogans: “We can’t stand Pat”, and “I’ve upped my standards, now up yours”.
Ah if only we could have avoided Tricky Dick and installed ‘Peerless Pat’.

With huge affection, I searched for Paulsen for President moments ago. Imagine my delight to know I’m not alone! Thanks to all who remain with me in profound gratitude, warmth and respect for the Man, Legend, his Humor and Campaign(s) for Continuing.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Pat back in the 1970s while he was performing at The Ice House in Pasadena, California.

What really amazed me about that man was the fact that he sat down at the bar next to me before the show started and just started talking to me like he was just another guy waiting for the show to start.

Of course I immediately recognized him but did not let on that I knew who he was.

Then, after enjoying a great (and very funny) conversation with this man for nearly a half hour or so, he got up, told the bartender to buy me a drink, and headed backstage to prepare for his show.

Later that night, as I watched his comedy routine, one of his skits was where he announced to the crowd that he was going to tell a joke, but he would not say one word out loud. Supposedly, we would all receive his humor telepathically.

He then put his hands up to the sides of his head and acted like he was really trying to “send” us his joke…

Of course I busted up laughing at which point Pat then pointed me out in the crowd and declared “See!….He got it!”

I will never forget Pat and sadly I just discovered that he passed away quite some time ago after a long battle with health issues.

Pat – I miss you bro, but I’m still laughing just from knowing you!
