Are The Police Being Hampered By The Courts? In a series of recent decisions the Courts have ruled that the police must watch their step in making arrests, obtaining confessions, advising criminals of their rights, and so on. To be sure some applaud these restrictions on police...Many more would applaud, but I must say a word on behalf of the police, even at the risk of my life...I's so ridiculous. Why should we have to tell embezzlers, kidnapers, burglars and murderers their rights? If they don't know their rights, they shouldn't be in the business. I say... pull the murge that beside a double one and sack it two times to push it and I say that with every ounce of vigor in my body. With all these new rulings, what good does it do having police walking beats and riding squad cars? The crooks go free and what do the police get out of it...flat feet and big hips..... In this recent case...twenty dash four one...Everett versus Maryland...Everett was actually seen committing a murder. The arrresting officer followed procedure to the best of his ability...and even gave Everett a dime to call his lawyer. But they let Everett go free. How was the policeman supposed to know it was a quarter call? This is stupdity.... Now, we are not against Civil Liberties...or for them...but all these technicalities are a far cry from the good old days when a cop could part your skull and no questions asked. Let's be fair. The police are entitled to the same rights as criminals!...But after all they are here to protect us. Remember we are law abiding citizens and ours is a nation based on law...SO UP WITH THE POLICE!...And DOWN with the Courts!
